Battery storage quotes from installers certified to fit them
Adding a battery to solar you already have, or starting from scratch. Answer five questions and we pass your details to up to three MCS-certified installers near you.Do you already have solar panels?
- MCS-certified installers only
- Up to three, never more
- Free, and no obligation
- We never sell your details
How it works
Four steps. No account, no login, no waiting for a callback to find out whether we cover your area.
Answer five questions
What you already have, where you are, whether you own the property, when you want the work done, and roughly what you spend on electricity. About a minute.
Leave your details
Name, mobile and email. We ask for these last, once you know whether we can help, rather than before we have told you anything.
Confirm your number
We text a six-digit code and you type it in. It takes a few seconds and it means installers never ring a number that does not work.
Up to three installers contact you
They quote you directly. Compare them, pick one, or pick none. We are not involved in the work and take no cut of it.
What we check
Not every electrician can fit a battery
Battery storage has its own competence standard, and from October 2026 it is not optional. These are the two things we check before an installer can receive an enquiry from us.
MCS certification for battery storage
MCS certifies installers per technology. An installer certified for solar PV is not automatically certified for battery storage. We check the specific certification, not just that the badge exists.
BS 7671 Amendment 4, Chapter 57
Published 15 April 2026, this added a chapter covering stationary secondary battery installations. It becomes mandatory for every new UK battery installation on 15 October 2026. We ask installers to confirm they work to it.
Here is exactly what we will ask
Most comparison sites make you start before they tell you what is coming. These are the questions, in order, so you can decide now whether it is worth your minute.
Decides whether you need a retrofit or a standalone battery.
Tells us which installers cover you. We do not use it for anything else.
Battery work needs the owner. If you rent, we will say so and stop there.
Including "just researching" โ that is a real answer and it changes who we pass you to.
A band, not a number. It helps installers size the system before they ring.
Last, and only after you have seen everything above.
No catch
How we make money
Every comparison site is paid by the companies it recommends. Most of them do not say so anywhere you would notice. We would rather tell you up front, because you are about to hand over your phone number and you deserve to know what happens to it.
Installers pay us, you do not
When we pass on an enquiry, the installer pays us a fee for it. That is our entire income. You are never charged and the fee does not change what you are quoted.
Your details go to up to three installers
Not five, not fifteen, and never sold on to anyone else. You will see this again on the form, and you have to tick a box before we do it.
We do not sell batteries
We have no product to push and no stake in which installer you choose. If none of the quotes suit you, that is a perfectly good outcome.
Worth knowing
The VAT position changes in 2027
Zero-rated until 31 March 2027
Domestic battery storage currently qualifies for 0% VAT as an energy-saving material. HMRC has confirmed the relief runs to 31 March 2027, after which the rate returns to 5%.
What that does and does not mean
It changes the VAT on the installation, nothing else. What you would save on a bill depends on your system, your tariff and how you use electricity, so we make no claim about it and you should treat anyone who does with caution.
The questions people actually ask
The rest are on our FAQ page.
How many people will ring me?
Up to three installers. We tell them your enquiry is shared with two others, so nobody is calling under the impression they have you to themselves.
Why do you need my mobile number?
Because installers quote by phone โ a battery quote depends on your consumer unit, your meter and where the battery would physically go. We text a code to confirm the number works before anyone gets it.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Installers pay us for the enquiry. You are not charged, and you are not obliged to accept any quote.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Email info@comparegreen.co.uk and we will delete your details and tell the installers we passed them to. There is no account to close.
